Wall Insulation
Wall insulation covers thermal insulation (insulating boards, insulated blocks or façade systems) and damp protection (barrier layers in walls touching the ground or exposed to rain). In existing buildings, walls can be insulated internally with insulated gypsum boards or externally with exterior insulation systems.

Wall Insulation: frequently asked questions
Is internal wall insulation effective?
Yes, it improves thermal comfort, but it slightly reduces room size and may not solve thermal bridges where walls meet the ceiling. External insulation is more efficient but costs more.
How do I treat rising damp at the base of a wall?
By cutting the moisture path (horizontal injected barrier or re-waterproofing the foundations), then repairing the plaster with suitable materials, not by painting alone.
